980 LOSES A GOOD SOLDIER 04/03/06 - On March 12th, former Business Manager Kevin W. Forbes died after suffering a heart attack a week before. He was only 46 years old at the time of his death. Brother Kevin was a twenty year member of the Local and had served as Business Manager from November 2001 until September 2005 when he took a medical leave due to complications from a stroke.
Brother Forbes was known as a good hearted man who truly gave of himself to others, especially his fellow Laborers. Bobby Myers, 980's former Business Manager who has stepped in to fill Forbes' unexpired term stated, "Kevin was a good soldier for 980 and the Laborers. He was dedicated to the membership and extremely loyal to them and to me personally. I am going to miss his friendship."
Kevin is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughter Tammy Duncan; son Harold Ray Duncan; and little buddy Gavin Campbell.
